ACTIVITIES

Something we love about North County is the endless array of activities available here. Reflecting our diverse and energetic membership, NCNC runs a robust activities program. Whether it’s a lifelong hobby or a new challenge, take a look below and see how you can join in.

Our Activities Chair is your initial contact for these groups. To join an activity or learn more, please email the Activities Chair at activities@northcountynewcomers.org, or stop by the Activities desk at our monthly General Meeting. You can also email us with ideas for new groups!

Please note, members of a couple must both be registered members of North County Newcomers to participate in our Activities groups.

Note: Asterisk (*) indicates groups that are full. If you're interested in starting another, please contact Activities Chair.

CREATIVE OUTLETS

New Book Groups Forming:  We have a plethora of readers in Newcomers, and as groups fill up, new ones will form as needed.  Read and meet for discussion groups, share your thoughts and hear others.

Improv/Acting Group:  Get silly and creative! No experience needed. Play Improv games and perform short skits. It's going to be fun!

Needleworking Goup: Come together to enjoy, practice and learn all things needleworking, including knitting, crocheting, sewing, hooking and more. Newly forming!  Our original group of the same concept is full, but here's an opportunity to form a new group.

Photography Club:  Break out your creativity, grab a camera and come to our monthly meeting to share imagery while discussing technique, composition, image processing. We also take field trips to create imagery on our central coast. Membership ranges from amateurs to professional photographers, creating a dynamic variety of imagery -- from scenic to portraits.

Sip & Paint:  Our own NCNC member Deb Humphreys guides you in various techniques of painting, generally watercolors, while we sip wine! She leads the group step by step, and the results are fantastic -- even for the inexperienced. Fees for supplies.
